I have no idea why it has 5 stars. The story doesn't flow, it felt as if the author added pieces to the story at the last minute. The characters, Carrow was a ditz who thought she was a bad ass. She could see images by touching things but had no idea about the magical world.However, when she stumbled into the magical world she was "oh ok".She meets magical people with wings and all of a sudden "oh wings, ok. They will be my friends". 🤦♀️The devil, ugh the chemistry between them seems forced - no sex scenes - he gets hurt her "you need blood right" him, "yes" her "ok here bite", him "but, ok". Seriously! 🤨I skipped through the majority of the books and won't be buying the next. Sad it could have been a good story. Im struggling. As soon as it said an old vampire didnt have a strong sense of smell or hearing I put it away. Wth? A predator without enhanced senses? I was already frustrated with the heroins stupidity, slow reactions, long winded inner dialog that kept her thumb up her rear until she was caught & arrested, which she also arranged by tipping them off before she left to go be caught red handed @ the scene not on purpose.
